Mike Bockorny

Today, Mike Bockorny is the CEO of the Aberdeen Development Corporation and a serial entrepreneur with a passion for making a positive impact in our community! Growing up in Huron, Mike spent much time with both of his grandfathers. Mike says, “They were both extremely hard workers and entrepreneurial in their approach to business. So, I credit both for setting good examples for me to follow.”

Over the years, Mike's business and career have undergone significant changes, especially with the recent challenges brought by COVID-19. According to Mike, "Business has evolved more in the last three years for me than it did in the previous twenty combined, and personally, I believe the evolution will continue for the foreseeable future." A big pivot point for Mike was in the mid-2000s when he really stepped out into his first entrepreneurial adventure.

Aspiring tech entrepreneurs take note! Mike's advice is priceless: "Do not do it alone, reach out to others and ask questions. Most importantly, take advice from those who have gone before you – they will share their successes and failures. Doing so will make your road less bumpy."
